SKF Explorer Series Bearings
Explorer is a new generation of SKF spherical roller bearings that provide previously unattainable benefits in a wide range of applications.
Explorer bearings afford several times longer life than standard spherical roller bearings. The new bearings' extended lives offer valuable downsizing or upgrading opportunities for engineers working on both new and existing designs. Explorer bearings make it possible to reduce overall dimensions, achieve material cost and weight reductions, and also increase energy efficiency. A smaller bearing runs cooler and generates less vibration.
SKF Y-bearings, which are usually refered to as insert bearings, are basically sealed deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63 series with a convex sphered outer surface. These bearings are manufactured in a number of different series and sizes and are available with standard inner ring or an inner ring that is extended on one or both sides.
The various bearing series differ in the way the bearing is located onto the shaft.
